How to use Bilpron for dental unit waterlines disinfection ?
Bilpron can be used as a disinfection solution for dental unit waterlines, as either a periodic disinfection solution or as part of a full biofilm removal on chairs that have failed a HPC Sampler Test.
- Empty the clean water bottle & rinse with tap or distilled water. Then refill with 250ml of NEAT Bilpron.
- Re-fit the water bottle to the unit. Flush a small amount of Bilpron through each outlet. You will see the Blue coloured Bilpron coming through each of the outlets.
- Make sure Bilpron is in all the outlets. Leave in Situ over the weekend , if performing an intensive clean. Bilpron must be left in for a minimum of 6 hours to be effective.
- On the Monday ( after vaccation ) or after the 6 hour period you will need to remove Bilpron and refill the system with Alpron . Flush all Bilpron out of each outlet i.e your clean water bottle should be empty and no fluid is coming from your outlets.
- Remove the clean water bottle and rinse thoroughly with clean water. Tap or distilled will work.
- Refill the water bottle with your normal solution of 1% Alpron .
- Purge at least half of this full bottle of Alpron through the unit & outlets. This will remove any trace amounts of Bilpron that may still be in the unit.
- Refill the bottle fully with 1% Alpron until the clean water bottle is full. The chair is now ready for use.
How to use Bilpron as a holding solution for dental waterlines ?
Bilpron can also be used as a holding solution for long or short term downtime. it will prevent any new growth of biofilm for up to 3 months. This eliminates the need to constantly flush a chair that is not being used. We recommend using Bilpron if a chair is not going to be used in a 72 hour period (such as a bank holiday and other shorterm holidays ).
The holding protocol is much the same as the disinfection protocol:
- Empty the clean water bottle and rinse with tap or distilled water, Then refill with 250ml of NEAT Bilpron solution .
- Re-fix the water bottle to the dental waterlines unit then Flush a small amount of Bilpron through each outlet ,so will see the Blue coloured Bilpron coming through each of the outlets.
- Be sure Bilpron solution is in all the outlets. Once in all lines Bilpron is active, you can now leave the chair for up to 3 months . Make sure to mark the chair as not being use .
- When you are ready to recommission the chair, flush all Bilpron out of each outlet i.e your clean water bottle should be empty and no fluid is coming from your outlets.
- Remove the clean water bottle and rinse thoroughly with clean water. Tap or distilled will work.
- Refill the water bottle with your normal solution of 1% Alpron solution solution used for daily routine decontamination for waterlines .
- Purge at least half of this full bottle of Alpron through the unit & outlets. This will remove any trace amounts of Bilpron that may still be in the unit.
- Refill the bottle fully with 1% Alpron until the clean water bottle is full. The chair is now ready for use.
