Before talking about Bilpron we should know A dental waterline is a tube that runs from the dental unit to the water supply It is used to deliver water to the dental unit and to rinse the equipment The water line can become contaminated if not properly maintained which can cause serious health problems for patients.

A dental waterline is important because it helps to keep your teeth clean The waterline is a thin strip of plastic that runs along the inside of your toothbrush’s bristles When you brush your teeth the waterline directs water towards the areas between your teeth and gums helping to remove plaque and bacteria.
what is Bilpron?
Bilpron is a turnkey solution for dental unit water lines. A dual-purpose product, Bilpron can be used as an intensive disinfection protocol for DUWLs as well as a suspension solution that prevents any re-contamination of dental units during downtime.

How to use Bilpron to disinfect the dental unit’s water line?
Bilpron can be used as a disinfection solution for dental unit waterlines, either as a periodic disinfection solution or as part of complete biofilm removal on chairs that failed the HPC Sampler test. If you are using Bilpron as part of the BRS+ Kit, please complete the previous steps in the guide.
Empty the clean water bottle and rinse it with distilled or tap water. Then refill 250ml of NEAT Bilpron.
Replace the water bottle in the unit. Wash a small amount of elderberry into each port. You will see a blue bilpron coming through each of the ports.
Make sure you have Belpron on all ports. Leave it on-site over the weekend, if you’re doing extensive cleaning. Bilpron must be left on for at least 6 hours for it to be effective.
On Monday or after the 6-hour period, you will need to remove Bilpron and refill the system with Alpron. Take out all the Bilpron from each outlet i.e. the clean water bottle should be empty and no liquid is coming out of the outlets.
Remove the clean water bottle and rinse it well with clean water. Tap or dripper will work.
Refill the water bottle with the regular solution containing 1% Alpron.
Clean at least half a full bottle of Alpron through the unit and ports. This will remove any trace amounts of Bilpron that may remain in the unit.
Refill the entire bottle with 1% Alpron until the clean water bottle is full. The chair is now ready for use.
How do you use Bilpron as a long-term solution?
Bilpron can also be used as a temporary solution to stop working long-term. If the chair is not used for a long time, eg during the shutdown, Bilpron will prevent any new growth of the biofilm for up to 3 months. This eliminates the need to rinse a chair that is not frequently used.
The reservation protocol is quite similar to the purge protocol:
Empty the clean water bottle and rinse it with distilled or tap water. Then refill 250ml of NEAT Bilpron.
Replace the water bottle in the unit. Wash a small amount of elderberry into each port. You will see a blue bilpron coming through each port.
Make sure you have Belpron on all ports. Once Bilpron is active, you can now leave the chair for up to 3 months. Be sure to mark the chair as unused (labels are provided by Bilpron for this purpose).
When you are ready to restart the chair, take out all the Bilpron from each port i.e. the clean water bottle should be empty and no liquid is coming out of the outlets.
Remove the clean water bottle and rinse it well with clean water. Tap or dripper will work.
Refill the water bottle with the regular solution containing 1% Alpron.
Clean at least half a full bottle of Alpron through the unit and ports. This will remove any trace amounts of Bilpron that may remain in the unit.
Refill the entire bottle with 1% Alpron until the clean water bottle is full. The chair is now ready for use.
